About California Legacy Partnership

Larry Westerlund
California Legacy Partnership (CLP) is a coalition of farmers, labor, business and environmental groups working to support rural communities by increasing the availability of land for clean, renewable energy. CLP is expanding economic opportunities for farmers and vast agricultural assets. By making it easier to produce solar power on otherwise unusable farmland, we’re fighting for a more prosperous future for agriculture, energy, and the environment.

Larry Westerlund leads corporate development and community engagement for the California Legacy Partnership in the Central Valley. Larry was instrumental in the development of the largest disadvantaged community (DAC) solar project in California located in southwest Fresno.

Born and raised in Fresno, Larry’s family owned Westerlund Box Company, manufacturing wooden and corrugated boxes for produce in California and Arizona. A former Fresno City Councilmember and Director Economic Development, he is a licensed attorney. Larry attended Cal Poly-SLO and University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Larry retired as Lieutenant Commander from the US Navy in 2013.

Larry lives in Fresno with his wife Dora Westerlund, President of the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation and their children, Zoe and William.
